Look at the World with My Eyes
Vuk Karadzic Primary School from Krusevac, Serbia, has realized the project “Look at the World with My Eyes” with the aim to promote inclusive learning in our school and in the community. We wanted to sensitize our students, their parents and the local community in general to accept and give support to our students with special needs. We wanted to make them visible, especially the blind and visually impaired students.
We organized training for teachers, workshops for students, purchased assistive software and in the end we organized “Fair of Differences”. It consisted of writing and drawing competitions on the topic of “Inclusion-Equal Opportunities for All” and the performance with the title “Dreamland”, which included two visually impaired students as actors.
The climax of the fair was on 23/12/2011 when the winners of the competition were announced, the prizes were given and this was followed by the performance. The event took place in a public place with the presence of our students, their parents, representatives of the local authorities and our guests from other schools and it was covered by the local media.
The project was implemented with the support of Ministry of Education, Serbia. It was realized within the project DILS-Delivery of Improved Local Services, IBRD loan No. 7510YF, in the circle “Empowerment of Schools for Inclusion”, supported by the World Bank.
